Earlsfield duo win Gold at GB Championships

Earlsfield due Joe Joyce and Louis Adolphe did their club proud, winning GB gold at Superheavy and Light-welter. It was already a fantastic achievement being the only club in Britain to have two representatives competing in the competition but the 2 boxers clearly felt they could go not one, but two better, with each winning twice over the two days.
Louis would of liked a rematch against Danny Phillips (his controversial conqueror in the ABA finals) but instead was drawn against capable Welshman Mano Lee. Louis did what he had to do and out worked Lee to win 8:4. Unfortunately Phillips was beaten in the other semi against GB boxer Scott Taylor but Louis was happy to go up against one of the Elite squad to prove his ability to the selectors.
After an extremely close bout, that saw Louis fight hard on the front foot and Taylor box on the counter the scores were equal at 23:23 and also 90:90 on count back. So it went to the judges who favoured Louis 3:2
Big Joe Joyce had a slighter tougher test in his semi against game Scotsman Ross Henderson. But Joe's work rate and jab were the telling factors as he won a clear points decision, dropping the Scotsman in the 2nd.
Joe's final was extremely impressive as he stopped GB no 2 Fraizer Clark in the first by completely shutting up Clarks left eye.
